Class Overview

A lei is a common symbol of love, friendship, celebration, honor or greeting. In essence, it is a symbol of Aloha. With your Honolulu artisan, Gina, you will learn how to make a lei using upcycled materials and Gina will share the long-standing culture and tradition behind the lei.

Meet your artisan: Gina

I’m the Founder and Creative here at Eco Mindful Lei. I am a licensed psychotherapist trained in Mindful Based Stress Reduction, have my 200-hour yoga teacher certification, Reiki Master, and lover of this Earth. I started this company because I believe that nature is therapy. Eco Mindful Lei is SO much more than lei. It is medicine. It is therapeutic. It is feeling seen.
I’m here to help you connect with flowers, connect with yourself, connect with like minded community and enhance your well-being.

How to get ready for class

  •

You will need a few things to make your upcycled lei from your house:

- Sharp scissors
- 3 long pieces of 5-6’ strips of fabric (recommend using a sarong,
curtain, sheet or pillowcase)
- 40-60 pieces off 2x3” petals (recommend a pair of jeans or 2
pillowcases) - we will do this in the first part of class
