Hello and WELCOME!!
Hiiiiii friends and fellow travelers, welcome to the TROVE blog! We are just getting started, and hope you will be a part of what is sure to be a wild and fun adventure with us!
We started TROVE because just like you, we miss traveling like crazy! We miss meeting new people, learning about new cultures, and eating our way through a new place….heck, we even miss airports! When we can return, we’re going to hug those TSA agents after we blissfully wait in line! When we looked around, we found that no one else was offering a hands-on, immersive way to experience cities around the world at home. We then started talking to artisans and chefs in France, Japan, and Italy, and we heard a common fear: with the abrupt stop of tourism and the uncertainty of when it would start again, many of them worried they might go out of business. This was a wake-up call for us. What started as a way to scratch a travel itch, turned into a full-blown mission to help save these one-of-a kind small businesses and support the local experts around the world who dedicate their lives to sharing their culture, history, and expertise with us.
After multiple cities, ongoing testing, many pilot boxes, and lots of great feedback from friends and family, we are finally ready to bring you TROVE. TROVE is the first “vacation in a box” that brings the world to you while supporting small businesses who have been hit the hardest by COVID. This is not meant to replace travel; we wanted to capture some of the magic of experiencing a new city and culture, or even revisiting a favorite place and learning something you didn’t know. We hope that when the world opens back up again that TROVE inspires you to travel, connects you to chefs and artisans you’ll want to visit in person, and helps you appreciate cultures that differ from your own. Each box includes a live cooking class with a local chef, live cultural activity with a local artisan, special ingredients and snacks from the local region, and a FREE surprise gift. To ensure we’re staying true to our mission, we are committing to giving 20% of all profits directly to the featured chef and artisan.
We hope that TROVE gives you an introduction to a new city or acts as a way to revisit some of your favorite destinations, and ultimately inspires you to go to new places when the world opens back up again.

During this challenging time where travel is on hold, receiving Hello-Trove Box every quarter put a smile on my face! I love discovering the fun items about a city and I truly enjoy the educative and fun activities that come with the package! What a great way to travel around the world from your nest! Thank you for the awesome experiences! I cannot wait to get the next one to join the virtual classes to paint, cook, learn to make tea… LOVE IT!
What a cool business idea. Congratulations! We missed out on our once in a lifetime trip to France/Italy this year (twice rescheduled, now cancelled indefinitely), and are craving international culture. Best of luck on your new business venture!
